I though Cliff was an English major. Wow, he was on a rant.

I though Cliff was an English major. Wow, he was on a rant. That was not a rant, at least by this forums standards, not even close. Now I am no English teacher and we don't get graded on grammar or spelling but just to be clear strictly is an adverb, alphabetical is an adjective. Strictly speaking, of course.

On Feb 9, 1970, The Doors released their 5th LP titled "Morrison Hotel". Morrison Hotel consists of music recorded between August 1966 and November 1969.
The cover photo was taken at the actual Morrison Hotel located at 1246 South Hope Street in Los Angeles by Henry Diltz. The band asked the owners if they could photograph the hotel and they declined, so the band went inside when nobody was looking and took the photograph. The rear cover features a photograph of the Hard Rock Café on 300 East 5th Street, Los Angeles. The founders of the later and otherwise unrelated Hard Rock Cafe chain used the name, having seen it on the Doors' album. The original cafe is no longer open for business.
Happy 47th birthday to "Morrison Hotel"!!!

The title of ATP‘s debut album is taken from a popular title for a collection of Poe’s macabre tales of the same name, Tales of Mystery & Imagination, first published in 1908 and reprinted many times since.

On Feb.10, 1978, Van Halen released their debut LP simply titled "Van Halen". Of course, the critics panned it. Music critic Robert Christgau gave the album a negative review, writing: "For some reason Warners wants us to know that this is the biggest bar band in the San Fernando Valley ... The term becomes honorific when the music belongs in a bar. This music belongs on an aircraft carrier." Also in 1978, Rolling Stone critic Charles M. Young predicted, "in three years, Van Halen is going to be fat and self-indulgent and disgusting ... follow[ing] Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin right into the toilet. In the meantime, they are likely to be a big deal."
We don't care what the 'critics' said. It was / is a great Rock and Roll record.
Agree or not?
Happy 39th Birthday to the debut LP "Van Halen"!!!!!
